Jurassic World is directed by Colin Trevorrow, Produced by Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley and stars, Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Vincent D'Onofrio, Ty Simpkins, Nick Robinson, Omar Sy and B. D. Wong.
Firstly, Jurassic World is simply awesome! It's a summer blockbuster, popcorn-flick through and through. If you're into, dino v human action, dino v dino action or simply love huge explosions and gnarly monsters killing each other, you're going to have the time of your life! I personally I loved this film, it ticked pretty much all of my boxes.
However there were a few issues with the film for me. For example in the first quarter of the film we get to see some of the park and explore it in all it's glory, with Ty Simpkins and Kick Robinson characters. We wounder with them and the majority of the scene is very solid, however, that momment when the theme tune was building, in the hotel and the kid is about to open the door and just when you think were going to see all those awesome dinosaurs, we get a aerial view of buildings. Now I mean that was kind of cool but, in a sequal like this after the all that time away from the park, you don't waste the opening theme tune on buildings. I wanted to see huge awesome aerial views of the Island, running with the dinosaurs ect. I just feel like it was a wasted opportunity.
Another problem I found with the film, was that there was a sub-plot within the second quarter of the film that really doesn't make any sense at all. I mean as a summer blockbuster, this is meant to be a film that is very easy to follow, which it was. But that scene where Ty Simpkins character and his brother where on the monorail and he was crying, about his parents because they are getting a divorce. I mean that's good to add that, if your going to flesh out these characters a bit more, but the movie didn't take it anywhere. I didn't come up in any other part of the film, so I just thought that was a bit pointless. Talking of pointless Vicent D'Onofrio's character want's to weponize Raptors, pretty hilarious if you ask me! ;)
Now when people saw the trailer for Jurassic World people we're getting extreamley worried, about the fact that Owen (Chris Pratt) is a Raptor trainer or some sort of Raptor Jesus?! I guess people didn't want to see the feirce Raptors, seen in the first film, turned into cuddly creatures. But if you havn't seen the film and you are worried. Don't be! Raptor Jesus, was possibly the best thing about this film other than the dino on dino action. That was the fashion of the film, they turned a lot of elements that were considered the 'bad guys' and reversed them and made them, their own. You'll get it when you see the film. Other elements that were really f***ing cool was the Indominous Rex turning out have camo abilities and him being part Raptor!
Overall this film was very entertaining, highly recommend! It's definitely a must see. I think it does great justice to the franchise, Speilberg will be proud! With the news of Pratt signing on for a sequal, I personally can't wait to see more of Raptir Jesus! If you've seen the film let us know what you think on twitter or in the comments below!
